I am running as an Independent Candidate. Illinois deserves leadership beyond partisan gridlock. We need practical solutions that work for every community—from Chicago to downstate, a senator who governs from the center and not the extremes.
With roots in the Mississippi Delta, I am an experienced Chicago pastor with a ministry reaching people in different states, countries, and continents. I also have a background as an established financial professional. I bring a unique perspective grounded in faith, real-world experience, and a deep commitment to Illinois families. It’s time for good judgment and unity to lead us forward.

I was raised in a large family as the 20th of 21 children in Belzoni, Mississippi. My parents made it a point that we were shaped by family, faith, and the civil rights struggle led by my father. I relocated to Chicago in 2013, and I currently serve as a pastor here. In my past experiences working in the financial field, I got to experience seeing firsthand the challenges Illinois families faced.
I’m running as an Independent Candidate to bring honest, effective, and centrist leadership to Washington. I believe the real solutions live in the middle.
Whitfield is an Independent Candidate focused on practical, and unifying leadership for all Illinois families; As he draws from his Delta upbringing and Chicago experiences to deliver real-world, common-sense approached solutions.
Often times many career politicians stay in office for decades, often losing touch with the people they represent. Term limits create space for fresh voices and restore accountability to voters.
The filibuster currently lets a small minority block legislation, creating frustrating gridlock. Reforming it will encourage compromise and help get important bills passed.
Public divisiveness around Court decisions harms trust in the judiciary. Ending recorded individual votes helps restore the Court’s unity and its role as a non-partisan institution.
Unpredictable and fragmented work hours make it impossible for many to manage other jobs, education, or family life. Fair scheduling gives workers control and stability.
Pooling tariffs into a fund focused on community-led job creation supports real projects with bipartisan oversight—revitalizing local economies across Illinois.
Lowering income taxes and applying a small sales tax only to non-essential goods means people get to keep more of what they earn while essentials like food and medicine remain protected.
Supporting American manufacturing keeps jobs local, lowers prices, and strengthens communities. If you want to sell cars or farm equipment here, you should build them here.
A strong private sector is the backbone of a thriving economy. When businesses grow and create jobs, they support public services and lift entire communities.
America faces doctor shortages as well as nurses, especially in rural areas. Allowing qualified foreign doctors and nurses to serve, helps provide timely care and lowers healthcare costs.
Farmers currently face restrictions that force costly repairs and dependence on manufacturers. Protecting their right to repair saves money and supports rural economies.
COVID-19 showed us the costs of unpreparedness. Building resilient health systems and emergency plans protects our families and economy.
People who’ve served their time shouldn’t be punished forever. Automatic expungement offers a fresh start, reducing recidivism and strengthening communities.
Supported by Illinois leaders, unions, businesses, and community advocates who believe in independent, common-sense leadership.
